The Pyjama Foundation Appeal

Needs Your Help!!

The PJ’s Foundation Appeals is asking for your donations of NEW PJ’s for over 30,000 children across Australia who are without new Pyjamas. Image not having Pj’s to wear at night?

Please visit The Pyjama Foundation Appeal to see where your local drop off point is in your area…If every one gives at least one new Pyjama’s to the foundation then maybe they will be able to reach their goal 🙂

Here is a video I also made on YouTube….Please I ask you to share the video to your friends/your facebook page, twitter page, blogs/websites so that the video is shared and the message spreads…..

For the cost of about $10.00 for a new pair of PJ’s you will be giving some child a smile – image that 🙂

My Kids Watch The Fridge

As A Mum To Five Boys I wrote this on how much they love to Watch the fridge and eat!!

Please Comment after reading the poem, I would love to hear your thoughts about how your family looks at food!

My Kids Watch The Fridge

My Boys are fit and healthy

They prefer to play outdoors from morning to-night.

It’s hard to keep them in doors,

we are a family without a

TV, a DVD, a Video Machine or a Wii,

We have books – Games and more.

My Kids Watch The Fridge

If they are not outdoors and you are looking for them

You will find them indoors with bum up and head down.

Bum up, Head Down, Fridge door ajar.

My Kids Watch The Fridge.

It’s funny to see, I am not sure what they expect

to find from the last time they explored.

Ask them what they are doing, and they give

you a look.

A look that says it all!

My Kids Watch The Fridge

And eat like they have never eaten before.

We only have wholefoods in our house,

which is fruit, vegetables, and anything that is fresh.

We do not have any thing that is round

like a donut or two.

We are not into packaged food with all those

hidden nasty food colourings, preservatives and chemicals.

We prefer to see them grow big and strong,

that is why they eat all day long.

If you were to come and stay at Woodys House

and see what Woody Boys can put away

You would be amazed at how fit and trim

they all look 🙂

My Kids Watch The Fridge.

Our food bill is growing bigger every week,

But we do not mind because,

they are so very happy and healthy.

We are amazed with how much their friends

have to eat,

their lunch boxes are filled to the brim with

all the food that makes us cringe.

We only like to eat the foods that

are green, orange, red, purple, and brown,

Not all the colours of the rain bow

cause they will send you mad.

When my kids ask me

“Mum, why can’t we eat like our friends eat?”

I look them in the eye and say its

“Because I love You” that we do the things we do.

My Kids Watch The Fridge

They love to eat

so eat they can, we know that

they are growing men to be,

getting bigger every day – two are now taller than me!

It amazes me to see how much junk food

is packed for school. How can a kid concentrate at school,

when they are eating all the rainbow of colours or more?

I wish that they could understand how to give

them a helping hand…..

Wholefoods is the way of the land, the way of life to be

for our boys are strong and healthy and fit as can be.

My Kids Watch The Fridge.

Thank you for stopping on by here to share with me. This is a poem from the heart, and in no way reflects any light into how you should or shouldn’t be looking after your family. It’s what works for us 🙂

Our Kids Today

Here are my thoughts about the society of our young children, our future generation…….

This Poem “Our Kids Today” is dedicated to all who are concerned about our Children

What has become of our kids today?

Can you remember the times it was safe to roam?

Can you remember the times we had fun,

for hours on end and no one knew where we were?

What has become of our kids today?

They are happy to play computer games,

have a television in their room, with their own DVD, Game Station,

a Wii, D.S  and internet too.

But ask them to put it all down,

Switch it all off,

Open up the window for fresh air,

Turn off the Air Conditioner,

Switch off the mobile phone.

Turn it all off, Tune it all out and go for a walk.

It’s like we are asking them to cut off their own leg arm or both.

WHat has become of our kids today?

If the kids do not have all of the above they ask why?

Kids don’t get how to have fun anymore.

Send them out in the great outdoors and they have not a clue……

It’s such a shame, Such a Shame.

To see our kids locked up in doors, with no sun or surf or fun

Is a crime.

Turn off the power Mum’s and Dads

Let our kids become kids once again,

Push them out the door and let them explore.

What Has Become Of Our Kids Today?

These are my thoughts and feelings. They may not be yours, or you may agree!!! I write from the heart and am not here to write to upset anyone. So if you do not agree with my poem please be nice with your comments. All negative (horrible) comments will be deleted.

A Letter

An Important Letter From The High School….

Today we received an important letter from our oldest sons high school. Hayden has been sent home a letter to let us know that he has breached the school uniform….not once but FOUR times.

My first question is why was I not told the first time, even the second time, how about the third time? Why wait to the fourth time?

I don’t get how the school works. All the kids of the highschool are given computers this year – one on one 24/7. That is great, really great. We don’t have a T.V. nor play station nor a Wii, and the other Woody boys do not have access to a computer unless we log them onto our computer. We are always making sure what the boys watch, because we don’t like them to watch horror movies, or violent ones.

Only to find out that both of the two older boys have movies downloaded on to their laptops. The computers that the school gave out to each student with a policy that each student has to sign to say “that their computers would only have content on there that was approved by the school”. SO how do both Woody Older Boys have pirated movies on their computer to watch whenever they want. WHY do they have movies that one of the students is selling through out the school downloaded onto their computer, BUT no one from the I.T. department has done anything about it?

How can the school be worried about the “Correct Uniform Policy” but not the “Correct Laptop Policy”. Is it just me or this a screwed up world? I would think our kids minds are more important than how our kids are dressed. I still do not know what Hayden has done on four occasions to breach the policy, and I will need to find out when he gets home.

I do know this……I will NOT be signing any paperwork. It is not my responsibility to be there at school to make sure he has his uniform on…I send him to school with his correct uniform. I am not sure what he is doing at school to have his uniform changed. If there is to be any signing of paper work, Hayden can sign it.  He is almost 16 and needs to take responsibility for his own actions.

WHY cant the school re-enforce their own policy at the High School? It seems like a double standard to me, Worried about uniform, not worried about how they use the computers?

Looking forward to finding out why Hayden has the note, and how he can decide to fix this situation….will keep you posted.

Do you ever have A Letter from your kids school?

Kids…To Be More Precise, Boys!!!

Today was not the best day ever.

It started off with being a great day, and then soon went out the door…. until I just wished that the day could be started all over again.

I was woken by two beautiful boys, Hayden and Zachery going out the door to the movies.  They kissed me good bye so I jumped out of bed and got the day started.

Baby Sitting.

It was going to be a different day from one of my normal every day to day…I needed to baby sit for a beautiful friend. Which in itself is not any thing different in our house. I normally end up with one or two kids extra on a regular basis. I think because we already have five kids, that friends think we can handle any extras. Which is so true….I prefer to have extras in the holidays because it takes away the fighting going on between my five.

But this was not a everyday baby sitting job. Today was different….Today I had the pleasure of baby sitting a gorgeous horse. I have been on this gorgeous horse many times, and he is just a dream to ride. So smooth and so full of grace. But today was not a good day. He was very sick….so sick that I spent most of my day trying to get him to drink water. I followed him around with a water bottle full of Mangosteen Fruit Juice, a dish of water, and a watering can.  I poured the water into my hand, I even brought over the other horses to show him that the water was yummy. NOTHING worked. I could not get him to drink…..

Nothing Worked

All day I tried and tried to get him to drink water….I pleaded, I asked, I even followed him around….but nothing would entice him to drink.

I spent over an hour just brushing his coat….a coat that was hiding the fact that all his bones were showing through. All of his muscle and shinny coat was gone. The feeling coming from the horse was not good….even baby woody who is four, picked up that the horse was really sick.

Out of the Mouths of Babes.

NOT sure how this works….but Kyle Wood said to me today “mum, that horse just let me know he is feeling really bad….His not well Mum”.  He is only four but his words stopped me in my tracks.

He was right.

Late this afternoon the Vet was called again. The most beautiful horse was no longer able to stand.  He was swaying from leg to leg….his heart rate was way above 90, and for a horse that was huge. It should not be above 45.

The vet was able to check him over one last time.  His liver had packed it in….and there was nothing they could do. I was not there when the horse was put to rest, but was called back just after….to give my goodbyes.

It was a bitter sweet goodbye….I knew that he was in a better place, but why did he have to be in the situation where going to sleep was kinder for him…..

Makes you question life all of over again…

Then to top the day off, my boys get home from going to the Movies…To tell me that they were pushed around at the bus stop this morning trying to get on the bus. And then on there way home, the same boys tried to chase them down.

I was not in a good mood by then…so I let loose. I walked down to the end of the road and told the two boys and there two girlfriends what for…

Of course they laughed in my face and said “They were looking forward to hitting my boys again”…..I was so close to hitting them, really close…

I rang the police but of course there is not much they can do….We need to attend the police station and make a statement, and let the police see what they can do. But because the boys are under age (and they know that) the police hands are tied.

Here’s to a better day from here on in….

Here’s to your Kids!! Here’s to trying to stay sane raising five boys!!
