Oldest Boy Turned 16

Our Oldest Woody Boy Turned 16!!!

Yesterday our oldest Woody Boy had his birthday…gosh time fly’s by far too much. Tomorrow is his party. I am amazed with how quick time has gone by….I can remember holding him as a baby and now he is old enough to get his car licence !!!

We are being double brave this year. We had a party for our youngest last weekend and now we are having one for our oldest 🙂

With Woody Oldest boy party I wanted to keep it small, because it is a sleep over party. So only a few invitations were handed out. With big instructions…”Non Alcohol Party/Non Drug Party”……If any of the kids are caught with alcohol or drugs then I will be calling up the parents and they can come to get their children. I am such a “Mean Mummy”…… 🙂

How many parties have you been brave enough to have?  What were your parties like? Be great to hear your experiences !!

Cheers

Woody Baby Turns Five

Our Youngest Woody Boy has turned five.

On Friday 11 June Kyle Wood turned five. He was born at 3.30 in the morning on Saturday 11 June 2005. Gosh how time flys.

We decided to brave it and have a birthday party at Landsborough Park QLD. The day was perfect, not too cold, not too hot. We arrived around 8.40 in the morning to make sure we got a table and to set up his “Pirate” theme. There was already three tables set up for their birthday parties!!! We were lucky, and got a perfect spot…..next to the playground, with heaps of space around us and right next to the BBQ……Like I said it was the most perfect day.

Kyle favorite part of his Birthday was his pirate cake. It was so easy to make…..When we got to the park I decided to put cling wrap onto the cake….BIG MISTAKE. It took most of the pirates black outline off. So David had to race down to Woolworths at Beerwah and buy another Icing Pen. Luckily for the cake the icing Pen is so very easy to use 🙂

Here is a video of Kyle Pirate Party…..I hope years later Kyle can go back and remember how much fun he had with his friends….

Wish they could stay little and cute for ever….:)

Love you kyle, Happy Birthday Big Boy.

Cheers

Nicholas Birthday Falls On New Year Eve

Nicholas Birthday Falls On New Year Eve!!

Nicholas Wood turns 11 today at 6.01pm 🙂 How about that?

Eleven years ago I was in hospital giving birth to our third Woody boy – giving birth way over due. He was given two dates for when he was meant to have his birthday…..December 11 or December 17th. Both dates came and went and I was still pregnant!!!

In the end I had to be induced because he was far too comfortable curled up inside. So it was decided that if he did not make an appearance before the weekend was over then Dec 31st was to be the day he was helped along.

Gosh it did not even occur to me about the date being New Year Eve!!! Looking back I wished I had asked for one more day. Only due to the fact that he never gets to have a birthday party because all his friends are either away, busy or not able to make his birthday 😦

Won’t he be happy when he is older enough to celebrate in style?…..I think it will end up being the biggest 21st Birthday Bash ever in history to make up for all the years that he didn’t celebrate with friends.

I am thinking about holding a birthday party half way through the year in 2010 so that for once he can have fun. Has anyone else had to do that for their child’s birthday? You hear how many children are born near or on Christmas and miss out on gifts. With the excuse “Oh its so so close to Christmas so you are having a big present” Well I can say we have never done that before. We always make sure he gets a present on his birthday – even if it is a small gift.

Happy New Year Eve!!

So for all of our friends and family across the world. Happy New Year and have a safe fun filled time. Please be careful on the roads – slow down and take care. Stay Alive, you are important to your family and loved ones.

Happy Birthday Nicholas…..Happy New Year Family and Friends

Remembrance Day and Birthday Too.

Remembrance Day and A Birthday in our house!!!

On Wednesday 11/11/09 was Remembrance Day. We also had Zachery 14th Birthday. My gosh time sure fly’s bye.

I remember going for a two hour car trip to have Zachery. We lived in a small mining town, and the small hospital could not cater for delivery’s (too far if something went wrong). So we set off for the two hour car trip to Mackay. We only got about 1/2 hour into the trip when a truck went by, and a rock hit our windscreen. It completely shattered the windscreen and we had to pull over. My husband David had to get us out of the car, wrap his hand in a big blanket and smash the whole screen out so that we could see the road to continue on.

I was contracting about every 5 minutes and thought I might have it on the side of the road!!!

We arrived at the hospital with bugs in our hair, our glasses so dirty we could hardly see and we were so full of dust/dirt that we must of looked a sight.

I labored all night long, and finally had you by 9.31 am on 11/11/1995. You were so bruised from being such a long labor, and had the whitest hair we had ever seen. So white that it was hard to see if you had any hair. You were and still are gorgeous.

Zachery 14th Birthday

Happy Birthday Zac

Happy 14th Birthday Zachery…..you were the smallest woody boy born in our family and now you are taller than me, skinny with long legs….

When you were a baby you had the cutest chubby legs ever seen. Now look at you….still very handsome and have the most wonderful nature.

Happy Birthday, and Remembrance Day.

Can’t wait to spend many more birthdays to come with you.

Love you Zachery.

Birthday Boys

Birthday Boys…..

Two Birthday in one Month for the Woody’s Boys….

Interesting enough our first Boy was born 15 years ago on the 17th June, and our baby Woody was born 4 years ago on the 11th June.

It was not planned that way, it just happened. With all five of my babies, they came overdue. Hayden was meant to be born at the end May or early june. Kyle was meant to be born Mid May to late May but came on the 11th June!!!

So on Wednesday just gone I am feeling very old as my first born baby turned 15. I can remember the day he was brought home from the hospital, all wrapped up in as many blankets as possible because it was winter time down south and it was cold.

There was no birthday party planned this year because “Mum that’s for little Kids!!!” But there was still a nice dinner and cake.

Now he is taller then me, with Muscles because he plays so much sport and works out in the gym….my how time fly’s!

Here is the birthday boy…with his favourite Cheesecake as his birthday cake….

Birthday boy turns 15.

A very rare moment in deed…all five boys in one photo together:)

Because I have recently being following another gorgeous family “The Spohrs are Multiplying” with their beautiful Maddie, I now treasure family time more than ever.

I will never have a daughter of my own, but don’t feel sorry for me as I have five gorgeous boys that are healthy, happy and full of life.

Sweet Maddie has made me realise the important day to day events in life, like taking more photos, treasuring more hugs and having more kisses.

Even though he turned 15, I still asked for a birthday Hug from Hayden and a kiss. Which he did but was mightly embrassed about!!!

Love you boys to bits, even when you are so active that you are driving me nuts!!!

Happy 15th Birthday Hayden.

Stay Safe, Well, Happy, Healthy and With a Smile…Till Next time

Birthday Boy

Birthday Boy

Yesterday (11th June) was Kyle Birthday.

Our Baby Woody turned four. Its seems like only yesterday that he was born, and now he is four. Time goes by so very quickly.

I can still remember how quickly he was born, and how amazing his birth was. With our fourth boy we had to have an emergency C-Section because the doctors had broken my waters too early which pushed his cord out.  Which lead to him not breathing and ended with a frantic  dash to get to him safely.

While I was pregnant with our Baby Woody, all the doctors kept advising me to book in for another C-section so that I did not go through the same experience again. I put my foot down. I kept saying that I was having him natural and that was that. Yet each doctor kept telling me telling me that I would need to have a c-section.

Towards the end of my pregnancy my waters broke. Then one week went by and nothing was happening. I went to a Herbalist/Naturopath and she gave him a massage on my legs/ankles and feet. She also gave me drops to place on my tongue, and add to water. Another week went by and still nothing…. I returned to the wonderful lady and again she gave me a deep massage, with a few tips to use at home.

By then I was two weeks over due and the hospital was concerned because the baby seemed to be too big.  I went for ultrasound on the Thursday, to discover that I had no water around the baby. I had told them that my waters had broken but they did not believe me.  They booked me in for the Saturday to be induced. Which I was not looking forward to. I then rang the Herbalist, who advised me to double the dosages of the drops, and to also practice what got us there in the first place. Mind you that was hard to do as we had a full house with my parents-in-law staying with us!!!

So I took on board all that she said and by Friday night I was in full on labour.  I was not totally convinced that this was “it” so I sent Hubby David to bed.  I also sent my parent-in-law to bed, with “Don’t worry, its probably only fake labour!!!”

But the pains were coming in thick and fast.  By 11:30 pm I woke up David to get me some socks for my cold feet. He took one look at me and freaked out!!! He placed me in the car very quickly and drove the normal 20 minute drive within 15 minutes!!!

Once at the hospital everything happened really quickly. They were saying that I was in labour but that I had hours to go. Baby then went into distress. They took some samples of blood from baby woody(while inside of me!!!) with a very long needle. The results were not good, baby was not breathing and not getting enough oxygen. The doctors and midwife went off to get the paper work organised for another C-Section. While they were out of the room I started to really suck on the gas.

So much so that David thought I was going to break the ball out of the glass because when I sucked on it, the ball was hitting the top with a loud bang!!! I had two really strong contractions, squeezed David’s hand and told him to get the midwife because baby was coming.

The two midwifes did not believe me, saying that I was only four centimeters and had hours to go. When they pulled back the blankets they were in for a shock. The baby’s head was already out. Then all hell broke loose, with David screaming in my ear and the midwife in the other ear. Baby had his cord around his neck, twice!!! “Stopping pushing, stop pushing, So that we can get babys cord of”

Don’t know about you, but how was I supposed to stop pushing? My body took over completely and I had no idea how to stop pushing. Luckily the midwife worked quickly because as she was ripping his cord of his neck Baby was there. Both David and I was so over joyed that we forgot to ask if it was a boy or girl for over 10 minutes. Due to baby Woody quick entrance the pediatrician had to work on him to make sure he was alright.

He was placed in my arms and doing really well. He feed for over 30 minutes and then had a cuddle with his Daddy while I had a shower.

No NEED for a C-section, and four years later he is one Healthy, Happy, Kind Hearted, Cheeky Monkey that keeps us on our toes:)

Baby Woody

He could not wait for his birthday cake, so he got to eat one cupcake before eating Dinner. I used Mangosteen in his icing so that it turned it pink without having to use food coluring (which our boys react to!!)

As you can see, He has the most beautiful SMILE.

He has four older brothers, and I am sure that he has bits of their traits rolled into one package:)

Happy Birthday Baby Wood. We love you.
